I have reached the point in time where I am finally comfortable in the skin I am in but that wasn’t always the case. This not only resulted in a low self-esteem but also kept me away from discovering my style as well. For a very long time in my life, I did not wear skirts. Sometimes due to social obstructions, sometimes due to my own mental inhibitions. But I have always admired long, flared skirts that trail behind your legs, especially the low high maxi skirts.

Well, I couldn’t understand the attraction, but I realized this is one part of my personality I need to embrace. So one fine day, I decided to get over my mental obstruction just got one for myself. I am a huge fan of Pinterest, and learning cello has been on my bucket list. So one day I was googling about cellos, and I came accidentally landed on a page with very beautiful styling pins for cellists. I funnily was reminded of Master Oogway’s statement from “Kungfu Panda” that said: There are no accidents. I believe the man was right!
I came across a beautiful ensemble of a plain white tucked in shirt and a wide belted high-waisted floor-length skirt. The collar was tastefully lifted just right, and the lights were perfect in the picture.
That’s when it hit me, I got my inspiration for an outfit. All I needed was a designer who’d do the same for me. Lucky for me, I learned about CurvesOnStyle on Instagram. Kritika is a fashion designer based out of NCR (Faridabad) and boy is she amazing! I called her up and we had a long discussion on how I wanted my designs to be. She was very patient and great at visualizing my ideas. We had a detailed discussion about what would suit my body type, what materials should I wear that would be comfortable and look chic at the same time. She also designed the shirt, which is lined, so I don’t have to worry about it to go see through.
I absolutely loved what I received, I had a lot of fun at the shoot as well. I wore the outfit to work one day and people loved it. The location chosen for this shoot is this beautiful cafe called Cafe lazy Beans. The place has hand-painted pictures of characters of pandas. I am a fan of the wall with all the beautiful frames.
Dress: Curves On Style

Clutch: Espelho

Fashion for the curvy is a bit more complicated than the normal sizes as each one of us have our own problem areas. CurvesOnStyle not only designed this beautiful ensemble but also helped me learn more about my body type, and what would look better on me. Her Instagram page displays her couture work and the designs are so chic.
