They say beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. Lucky for us, Bollywood has finally started taking the good old saying seriously.

With the release of “Dum Laga Ke Haisha” on 27th Feb 2015, the answers to all the pre raised questions about the success of the movie, majorly surrounding the lead actress, Bhumi Pednekar’s plus size, have been waved off once for all by her performance in the movie. Apparently, Bhumi’s plus size didn’t come in the way of her work, as “Dum Laga ke Haisha” has been highly appreciated by the audience. Even the critics gave heads up to the movie.

Not many know that Bhumi actually worked with Yash Raj Films as an assistant to the caste director Shanoo Sharma. Bhumi had originally auditioned for the role for about a 100 times, before she was finally selected. For now, Bhumi has been signed up for three projects with YRF.

To keep the curiosity level high among the audiences, the movie wasn’t promoted and Bhumi was restricted to be exposed to the media before the release of the movie. At the launch party of DLKH, the ravishing curvy diva Bhumi was finally launched. But there was a difference in her appearance. She was half the size as shown in the movie. Apparently, the actress has lost a lot of weight after the completion of the movie.

We loved the way she played her part in DLKH, as we also loved her lesser plus size avatar at the movie’s launch party. Her confidence and ease in her own skin makes her different from the others out there.

It’s a great initiative by YRF to make movies around topics people can closely connect to. Actresses like Bhumi and Parineeti have been treasured by the audience. We hope that we get to see more of such movies in the future.

Have you watched DLKH yet? If yes, how did you like it? Please share your reviews in the comment box below.

Till then,

XOXO
